Basic three-point lighting technique
(1) main beam
Light source: it is usually the main light source in the scene. We will use it as a reference for color temperature and intensity to set other lights. If the color temperature of the main light is 5000K, when selecting other lights, the color temperature is roughly the same as that of the main light, and the intensity is lower than that of the main light. Usually I use soft light source, because it can make the subject look better,
Orientation: the larger the viewpoint of the main light and the camera, the stronger the sense of volume of the subject, and the more dramatic it is visually. Therefore, what you need to consider here is how you want to feel.
Height: if we shine from below, we will invent an unnatural terrorist effect. If we raise the light 45 degrees above the main body, we will have a good transition on our face and a good sense of shape.
(2) auxiliary light
Effect: the effect of auxiliary light is to balance the main light and illuminate the shadow left by the main light.
Orientation: usually we want to put it in an orientation complementary to the main light, which can well balance the shadow left by the main light. If you move to other directions, shadows will appear in other areas.
Intensity: when we discuss the relationship between the auxiliary light and the main light, the practice is to discuss the light ratio. When adjusting the auxiliary light intensity, you should consider what you want to express and how you want to feel. So try to adjust the balance between main light and auxiliary light until you think it is appropriate.
(3) general light
Effect: the effect of light is to separate the subject from the set, especially when the subject has dark hair, skin and clothes, and the set is also very dark, they are easy to mix together.
Orientation: we try to stay away from the main body in the rear. Be careful not to see the lamp or lamp holder in the lens. When we move around, be careful not to illuminate the main body's face.
Intensity: the stronger the generalization, the stronger the sense of hierarchy, but it will look unnatural. The light with lower intensity will feel more natural.
(4) setting light
Effect: the setting light is used to illuminate the setting. We use this light to control the coordination between the setting and the subject.
Intensity: if the setting light is turned on too much, the setting will be very bright and will separate attention from the main body, but if there is no setting light, the setting will lack vitality.
